Modern stories are constantly bombarding us with the message that external expectations are oppressive and true happiness can only be found in detaching, leaving the community, and going out to find ourselves. Identity affects our behavior, attitudes, emotions, and values. How I live and act flow out of who I perceive myself to be. How are we doing identity formation and what does the Bible have to say about it?
